Cranely Gardens formed in the New Jersey suburbs of Philadelphia in 2008 by long time friends and co-vocalists Chaz Macklin and Dean Graboyes. Initially coming together through mutual friends, the band was comprised of Rich Irwin on drums and Jesse Bryson on guitar. After only one practice, the band acquired Randy Mac as a lead guitarist and the bands sound began to take shape. The band began writing with a style related to that of Killswitch engage or As I Lay Dying.
Being no stranger to change, since their initial formation in 2008, Cranely Gardens has undergone numerous and various lineup changes to arrive at their current form. The band is now composed of Chaz Macklin on vocals, Randy Mac and Joe Fedele on guitar, Alex Niszczak on bass, and Ryan Shane on drums.
This lineup shows the bands true colors and potential. Drawing influences from all ends of the metal spectrum and other genres as well, the boys in CG have managed to make a unique sound by not subscribing to one specific style. This is audibly apparent on their Debut EP Locust Valley released on February 3, 2015. With parts ranging from double bass driven tremelo riffing to death metal blast beats, the band dabbles in the more extreme of the subgeneres, while still leaving room for some groovy hooks, heavy breakdowns, and dual guitar harmonies. Top it all off with vocals that seamlessly blend hardcore, death metal and even a twinge of hard rock together to make a distinct sound and style.
With no intentions of stopping or slowing down, Cranely Gardens is currently recording their second EP, House of Decay, while also writing music for their full length LP to be released in 2016, all the while touring the northeast United States.
